DRILLS

Update: Jan 30th, 2011

This section is all about my favorite drills, but before that…

*Important note: Before every major exercise routine warm up your body for 15 minutes – I do a mix of light cardio and stretches.

These are the topics I’m thinking of adding. Watch for the content!

Core & AB Strengthening Drills

Ab Ripper X from Tony Horton is one of my favorite Ab/Core strengthening sequences. I like Ab Ripper X a lot because it’s only 15 minutes & it requires no equipment

Back Strengthening Drills – Back strength and flexibility is critical for scorpions and high arabesques.

Suzanne Martin’s 15 Minute Better Back Workout for Back Strengthening is good for people who like short, easy to follow, and light workouts. It is NOT intense at all. I like doing this set of drills in the morning. I actually leave the DVD in my xbox to play.

The workouts don’t require any equipment with a mix of standing and floor exercises. You may want to use a towel or mat.

Another nice feature of this set of drills is she has 4 different back drill workouts:

Developing the Back, Revitalizing the Back, Energizing the Back
Soothing the Back

If you like reading and learning about physiology/anatomy, the book explains a lot of that which can be very useful to know. If you just want drills to follow, pop in the DVD!

Vertical Jump Drills – Increasing your vertical height will help with vertical jumps such as Entrechat Quatre

My Vertical Jump Drills – This is a 1 hour workout with a warm up, jump training, upper arm and legs strength training section. You can focus in on just the jump training portion if you don’t want to do arms.

VerticalJumping.com – This website has a long list of vertical jump training exercises and drills with video and explanation.

Please share your drills/videos/tutorials in the comments section!! I’d love to post/link to them.
